Kanye West withdraws petition to get on NJ’s 2020 ballotTRENTON, N.J.: Kanye West withdrew his petition to appear as a presidential candidate on New Jersey’s ballot, according to an email chain between Administrative Law Judge Gail Cookson and what appears to be the rapper’s campaign email address, Kanye 2020. “At this time, Kanye 2020 has no further option than to regrettably withdraw from New Jersey and cease further efforts to place Mr. West’s name on the New Jersey ballot,” the email said. The status of West’s presidential campaign and whether he is truly seeking the position remains unclear. The legendary singer cited repeated use of two songs: “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Devil’s Sidewalk,” at rallies and political events. Young first complained about the use of “Rockin’ in the Free World,” in June 2015, when it accompanied Trump’s presidential campaign announcement.
