Newly-appointed national cricket team head coach Maurice Odumbe has put his future charges on notice, warning he would not compromise on discipline, fitness and on-field performance. Odumbe was named to replace Thomas Odoyo, who quit in February after Kenya’s poor performance at the ICC World Cricket Two tournament in Namibia. The dismal slide has mainly been blamed on players’ poor discipline and Odumbe has warned that he will crack the whip. “I will be tough on discipline since that’s the only way we can get better results,” the 48-year-old said. Odumbe said the ‘sheer challenge’ of getting Kenyan cricket performance back to positivity has really exited him and he will not want to disappoint.
