Five workers have been seriously injured during gas leakage from a blast furnace in Rourkela Steel Plant in Rourkela, Odisha. The incident took place on Wednesday and as per the local newspaper Pragativadi, the five workets came in contact with the hot gas that came out from the blast furnace. The injured are in a critical condition and have been admitted to Rourkela Ispat General Hospital (IGH). While their identities have yet not been revealed, senior officials are yet to claim the reasons for the leak.
