Occupy leader Chan Kin-man released from prison

Chan Kin-man has been released early from jail after being sentenced to 16 months in jail in April 2019. One of the founders of the Occupy movement, Chan Kin-man, has been released from jail today, and said he didn't regret leading the civic disobedience campaign in 2014. Chan had been sentenced to 16 months in jail last April for inciting and conspiring with others to cause a public nuisance. His fellow leader, Tai, was also jailed for 16 months- the lengthiest sentences - but applied for bail last August pending an appeal. Her jail sentence was suspended for two years after she needed an operation to remove a brain tumor.
