Occupants 'very lucky' to escape house fireNICOLE JAGER/SUPPLIED Fire has destroyed a house on Keeling St, Palmerston North. Three people are lucky to have escaped with their lives after a fire from an outdoor couch spread through a Palmerston North house, destroying it. Fire and Emergency New Zealand were called to the fire on Keeling St, West End, at 12.45am on Sunday. Neighbour Nicole Jager said she was going to the bathroom when she looked out the window and saw flames coming from the house. She ran outside to move her car, which was parked behind the house, as the flames spread rapidly.
