(CNN) On the campaign trail, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez turned herself into a phenomenon. Even as her profile -- and influence -- rises, Ocasio-Cortez operates much as she did on the campaign trail. "What we're seeing is that there is not one single way to get things done," Trent said. "She was saying today, everybody says this is the way things are done in Washington and there certainly is a way things have been done in Washington, and there are certainly people who are going to continue to work that way. Rep. Brenda Lawrence said Ocasio-Cortez and other new members who came in as activists are learning how to operate in a deliberative body.
