Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro have all come out in favor of some form of reparations for black Americans. Former President Barack Obama and 2016 Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., previously came out against reparations. Those who have come out in favor of reparations have so far been vague about what exactly it is they would support. Warren was prepared to go a step further, though, and told reporters in February that reparations for Native Americans should be “part of the conversation” as well.
