Although he is probably best remembered now as founder of Business & Finance magazine, there was much more to Nicholas Leonard than that. Edited by Ted Nealon (later Fine Gael TD), it launched the Backbencher column of John Healy, and Leonard wrote a business column for it. Nicholas Leonard, who died at his home in Edinburgh at the age of 81, was born in London in 1939. "It came as a great surprise to me as Hugh had negotiated the deal on his own," said Leonard later. Nicholas Leonard, who died on Wednesday, is survived by his wife and daughters Jennifer and Antonia.
