Followers of the controversial preacher besieged the Police Headquarters to protest the preacher’s arrest but the Police dispersed them with water cannons and pepper spray. Bishop Obinim’s followers earlier massed up at the Nima police station demanding immediate release of their Pastor following his arrest on Tuesday, before he was later transferred to the Police Headquarters. Yesterday [Tuesday], a video emerged showing the preacher being led into a vehicle from a Police station in handcuffs, escorted by some police officers. Bishop Obinim garnered widespread criticism this past week for his public flogging of two teenagers in his church for which he has been sued and is under investigation but it is this claim of fraud that has seen him locked up.
