Former US President Barack Obama has launched an online appeal for aid in favour of victims of the devastating fire in Hawaii. Obama who was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, said he and his wife Michelle have been devastated by the tragedy. "The thing about it though is that thoughts and prayers in a moment like this are not enough. We have to step up, and we have to help those families and help Lahaina rebuild," he added. Obama said the Red Cross in Maui is mobilising aid and providing direct support to the affected populations via redcross.ord/donate and appealed for people to support the initiative.
