The displaced Rohingya refugees, who entered Bangladesh escaping persecution in Myanmar’s Rakhine state, may be rehabilitated in Bhasan Char, said Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader. He made the remark at a fund and relief collection campaign in Cox’s Bazar on Monday. He said: “Currently the Rohingya refugees are living in a difficult condition in Cox’s Bazar. He said Bangladesh had to already deal with massive damages of flood this year, and now the Rohingya crisis has put extra pressure on the government. The government is now planning an alternative way to rehabilitate the Rohingyas, he added.
