The Ontario Provincial Police anti-rackets squad is investigating a Ministry of Education employee after tens of thousands of dollars was pilfered from COVID-19 relief funds for families. “I can confirm that the OPP has received a referral from the Ministry of Education and has launched a criminal investigation into the allegations,” said Schmidt. “As the investigation is ongoing, we will not comment further to protect the integrity of the investigation. “It’s terrible, though, because we wanted to get this money to people struggling during the pandemic.”Loading...
