Ontario Provincial Police have identified a man who was found dead after he was earlier spotted in a stolen boat on the Ottawa River near Clarence-Rockland. A canine unit, a marine unit and a team of firefighters searched for the man on June 1. OPP also dispatched its aviation and marine units to locate him, but they were unsuccessful. The OPP identified the man as 34-year-old Benoit Franche of Hawkesbury. An autopsy has will take place Tuesday or Wednesday in Ottawa to determine the cause of death.
