ST. CATHARINES—The OPP have charged a Niagara Regional Police constable who was shot several times during an argument with a fellow officer last November near Pelham, Ont. Nathan Parker, 52, of St. Catharines, is charged with assaulting a police officer, assault with intent to resist arrest and assault with a weapon. The province’s Special Investigations Unit, which investigates cases of serious injury involving police, earlier this year charged Niagara police Sgt. Donovan headed up the Niagara Regional Police’s collision-reconstruction unit at the time of the incident. Parker is now home and recovering from his injuries but hasn’t returned to work, Niagara Regional Police said last month.
