Specifically, youth unemployment rate has risen significantly in the last 20 years. For more than one-third of the male youth, unemployment is a major obstacle in life, as the Brac Youth Survey 2019 has revealed. Thus, one may ask whether economic growth is enhancing prosperity or creating multi-dimensional societal strains? One may claim, I have picked data that hide the economic progress of the country. In turn, such claims will support my point that emphasizing and targeting one set of data as progress ironically hide the other darker sides.
