The machine senses the user’s hand and dispenses the sanitiser. It was produced by a team of the Department of Engineering of the university, led by the dean, Professor Sulaimon Musediq. The 3-D face shield (tagged OOU FT-20) and 3-D nose masks are actually a rarity among personal protective equipment in Nigeria for now. The OOU anti-COVID syrup, Professor Olatunde said, has already been sent to the National Agency for Drug Administration and Control for necessary assessment and certification. Other research products of the university presented include hand sanitiser (OOUTISER) and hand washing liquid produced by the university’s Department of Chemistry.
