As far as I am concerned, the meeting between Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, ODM leader Raila Odinga and a section of Kisii leaders was all about reconciliation after the Bonchari by-election. However, there is no way Raila can endorse or even groom another politician for president other than himself. Matiang’i has never declared that he will run in 2022 and we have no business pushing him. Over the period he has served in the Jubilee administration, we have not seen his community on the national agenda. We have seen people who think they are popular and the moment they have no power they wilt, they are nothing.
