First of all, these high billings must all be submitted by a single doctor. Although doctors can submit their billings as a group, the doctor’s personal OHIP number is on every bill for every service they submit to OHIP. Are men overrepresented in this group of high billing physicians? OHIP billings comprise 10 per cent of all provincial expenditures. By making OHIP submissions more transparent and their value more understandable, the Supreme Court and The Star are doing a service for the public.
