On Sunday night the party postponed the primaries for Kisumu County that were set to be conducted today citing insecurity around the county and probable inadequate preparations for the exercise as key Raila allies battle it out for the party tickets. In Siaya County voters had turned out in large numbers to grant their favourite candidates the chance to run on the ODM ticket. In the escalated political temperatures in the region as it is believed, a win in the primaries is a guaranteed win in the General Elections. The nominations in the counties have been moved to Tuesday 24, April for what the party termed as unavoidable circumstances forcing them resolve to the last minute move. In Migori County voting had been delayed due to late distribution of ballot boxes and election materials to as late as 8am.
