Wicked LocalHarry Bogdos, champion of Pond Road in North Truro, passed away peacefully on Dec. 5 in his beloved city of New York, shortly after his 89th birthday. Equally loved was the Pond House in North Truro, which he and his wife Joan purchased in 1995 as a second home, after summering on The Cape since the late 1960s. After the war, Harry traveled extensively in Europe, Mexico and North Africa. When he returned to the States, he came ashore in San Francisco, walked over to the University of California, Berkeley, and announced that he wanted to study art, and study art he did, becoming an instructor there and earning an MFA. Harry is survived by his son Joe Bogdos, Joe’s partner Barbara Elam, his grandson Arthur, and his extended family in Texas and California.
