Sodiq OyelekeThe Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has indicated its readiness to cooperate with the St. George’s University in a sexual harassment allegation involving Dr. Francis Fakoya, a former lecturer at the institution. The allegation was levelled against Fakoya sometime last week by a Facebook user, Funke Dezarn, who is believed to have studied at the OAU. Olarewaju, in the statement, admitted that Fakoya was a former staff of the OAU, but denied that the OAU management had knowledge of the allegation. “The allegation against him, which purportedly occurred while still in the employment of the university, is considered by the management to be too grievous. “We wish to inform the general public, particularly the stakeholders in the education sector, that the Management of OAU has zero tolerance for any form of harassment, and most especially, sexual harassment, in whatever guise.
