Ruhul is one of the 12 people who were implicated in the April 6 attack on Nusrat based on the confessional statements of two accused in the case. Sonagazi Municipality Councillor Maksud Alam, who is also currently in police custody, had also given Nuruddin and Shahadat Tk10,000 for the job. Later, another teacher of the madrasa also gave the duo Tk5,000 to stage a demonstration and burn Nusrat to death. Alim examinee Nusrat was set ablaze on the roof of the madrasa on April 6 morning by four burqa-clad assailants after she refused to withdraw the case against Sirajuddaula.
