Nurses who have returned to the front line told yesterday why they wanted to help fight coronavirus, despite the risks. She said: “My son and daughter-in-law are NHS nurses. “When I thought about the sheer volume of front line NHS staff that will be needed, I realised what we have now wouldn’t be enough. Tory-led cuts since 2010 has left the NHS crippled with more than 200,000 nurses quitting in the last 10 years.
