An advertisement featuring a sick person returning to work after taking a flu medicine has been labelled 'socially irresponsible''. The makers of Nurofen cold medicines have withdrawn a TV advertisement after complaints it was ''socially irresponsible'' in a Covid-19 era. Eighteen complaints were made to the Advertising Standards Authority regarding the advert, which features ''Carl the IT guy'' sick in bed while his workplace struggles on. Carl is then shown quickly returning to work in a much healthier condition after taking Nurofen Cold and Flu PE, but the complainants said it was the wrong message for people in coronavirus times.
