Our Special CorrespondentCalcutta: Numetal has fired a fresh legal salvo, further complicating the process to find a new owner for debt-laden Essar Steel. Numetal has argued that its pending case before the NCLT could be prejudiced if the fresh bids are opened. The petition challenging the eligibility of Numetal will come up for hearing on April 4, two days after the deadline for the fresh bid ends. Incidentally, the hearing on this case will come up on April 2. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal, the other suitor for Essar Steel, has also gone to the NCLT to establish its eligibility for the first bid.
