The employment rate hit 74.2 per cent in Quarter 2 2023, the highest point since the current series began 25 years ago. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was estimated to have fallen by 1.9 per cent in Quarter 3 2023, a fourth consecutive quarter of contraction. More than half of women (52 per cent) said they had experienced sexual violence, compared with 28 per cent of men. Almost 75 per cent of the top 1 per cent of earners were male, compared with 25 per cent of females.
