The Kenyan government, through the Transport Ministry, has laid out new strategies to reduce the number of accidents. To reduce the of accidents, drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists need to stay alert, follow traffic laws, and take necessary precautions. In Githunguri, Kiambu County, a 14-seater matatu and a private automobile collided head-on, killing at least six people. Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba said the government will heavily prosecute the individuals who will fail to observe the road safety measures.
