Torontonians walking through Nathan Phillips Square on Monday morning might have been surprised by the sight of a mysterious, massive white sphere that seemingly popped up overnight. The 45-foot white globe, tethered to the centre of the square, prompted many onlookers to stop and survey the display. The globe is one of many signs around the city that Nuit Blanche is just around the corner. The all-night artistic and cultural festival takes place Saturday, with installations, talks and tours across the city. The giant sphere is part of Death of the Sun, a contemporary art project by Director X, the creative guru behind Drake’s Hotline Bling music video.
