Cabinet Secretary Md Shafiul Alam at a press conference had announced the list of ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers of the new Cabinet. A graduate from the London School of Economics, Nowfel also became an executive member of the Chittagong city Awami League in 2014. Later in 2016, Nowfel was made one of the organizing secretaries in the ruling Awami League. People of Chittagong have expressed hope that Nowfel will discharge his duties honestly and responsibly as the deputy minister for education like his fatherdid as the mayor of the port city.
