Losing people you love and being too far away to be part of the important ritual of burying our dead. When people died, I was far away. Now that I am home, the wounds of grief are opening up. Being so far away lets you believe that lost loved ones are still with you, just far away. I could not justify being so far away from someone I loved so much during her time of need.
