Not persecution: MCMC says visit to ex-MP's home was to probe 'signal interference' - Nation

PETALING JAYA: The Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) says their visit to the house of former MP Dennis Tan Tee Beng's was to investigate signal interference in the area, and not political persecution as he suggested. In a statement on Saturday (Dec 22), the MCMC said they visited Tan's house on Dec 21 as his home phone had caused signal interference in the area. "The source of interference was pinpointed to a Panasonic cordless phone model KX-TGA401 that is owned by Mr Tan," MCMC said, adding that they had informed him of the issue. When MCMC knocked on his door, Tan posted on Facebook: "My family informed me that the MCMC came to my house looking for me but I was not home". Tan added in a separate Facebook post.
