BALTIMORE - Wes Moore will put his hand on the Frederick Douglass Bible on Wednesday when he is sworn in as Maryland's next governor. When he takes oath, the governor-elect, who defeated Republican Dan Cox in the general election, will use the Frederick Douglass Bible and his grandfather's Bible. According to The Washington Post, the National Park Service approved Moore's request to use the Bible. On Wednesday I will be sworn in as governor on Frederick Douglass’ Bible and my grandfather’s Bible. The Washington Post reports that for the swearing in ceremony, it will be in a specially designed protective container held by Moore's wife, Dawn.
