Samina Mehtab was summoned by Additional Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Kamrul Ahsan and he handed over the formal letter to her. In the 20-minute meeting in the afternoon, she was not even offered a cup of tea. After the meeting at the Foreign Ministry, Kamrul said Pakistan has no scope to make any comment on the internal affairs of Bangladesh. The trial process of Mir Quasem Ali was conducted through a transparent manner and Quasem had the opportunity to make an appeal against the verdict and he did that, he said. The government of Bangladesh expected that the quarters/authorities in Pakistan would act responsibly and would refrain from continuing such uncalled for statements, the press release said.
