By my reckoning, at one point our 10 outfield players comprised two right-backs, three centre-backs and five central midfielders. The injury to Mohamed Toure takes the tally of players currently unavailable up to 13 – at least that’s my best estimate at this stage. Injuries are part and parcel of football, but the nature in which we seem to bounce from crisis to crisis is alarming – and not down to bad luck. Because in truth, the limited number of players currently at Clement's disposal is going to make getting results even harder. Victory would go a long way to ensuring we can breathe easy heading into the business end of the campaign.
