Northland school remains in lockdown after shots firedSUPPLIED Armed police were earlier stopping people from entering Ahipara as they searched for a gunman who fired "multiple shots" at a Takahe Rd property. Ahipara School has been in lockdown for much of the day but this was lifted soon after 3pm. Police were first notified around 10.30am of an incident on Takahe Rd where shots were fired at a property. Ahipara Sandhoppers Early Childhood centre - which is located on the Ahipara School property - was also in lockdown. A nearby resident said Takahe Rd, which leads directly to Ahipara School, had been cordoned off by police.
