Kiwi are dying at an "appalling rate" after being hit by drivers on the roads, conservationists say. Kerikeri Peninsula Pest Control has erected large signs urging motorists to slow down and letting them know the kiwi "road toll". DEAN WRIGHT Seven kiwi have been killed on just 10km of road in the Kerikeri peninsula this year.
