In a conference to review the 2015 winter crop and launch plans for 2016 winter crop on September 8, the Deputy Minister asked for promptly harvesting the summer-autumn crop to give space for winter crop. They have also prepared varieties for the winter crop, ensuring both quality and quantity, he said. According to the department, the winter crop 2015 faced difficulties in weather conditions with extreme cold spells and heavy rains at the end of the crop. Average income of the winter crop was about 50 million VND per hectares, with the total whole region’s production of 22 trillion VND (100 million USD).
