Niwa meteorologist Nava Fedaeff said forecasters were closely watching a low pressure system moving in from the Tasman Sea. Heavy Rain Warnings and Watches have been issued for northern regions and Mt Taranaki as a deepening low in the Tasman Sea and associated fronts approach the country.
