A shimmering Northern Lights display lit up the sky across Berkshire last night. Skygazers were treated to a spectacular array of colours following an extreme geomagnetic storm. The Met Office predicted the lights, also known as aurora borealis, would mainly be visible in northern areas of the UK. It’s the second time this year the natural phenomena has been clearly visible in Berkshire following a similar weather event in May. The Met Office is predicting cloudier skies tonight which will limit the chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
