The most stark difference is found when Northern Ireland house prices are compared to London where an average house costs £498,000. House prices in the UK capital rose by 5.2%, the lowest rate of all UK regions with Northern Ireland’s 6% second from bottom on the table of growth rate by region. Their performance bodes well for Northern Ireland which tends to lag other regions of the UK and, similarly, has relatively low house prices. Property website PropertyPal said this month that average property prices in Northern Ireland stand at £178,000 currently, up 7.3% on the year while rental values have also shot higher.
