Northern Ireland beaten in first game of Euro 2016

Northern Ireland was beaten 1-0 by Poland in their first Euro 2016 game on Sunday. Northern Ireland did not manage to get a decent effort on target and must now regroup to play Ukraine on Thursday. Arkadiusz Milik scored the goal in the 51st minute after a goalless first half. It was Northern Ireland's first appearance at the Euro finals, but hardly one they will look back on with much pleasure. Poland had dominated the first half but were thwarted by some superb defending by Michael O'Neill's men.
