UEFA yesterday confirmed whichever of the four team wins Path B of the play-offs - Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Bosnia or Slovakia - will play two matches at the Aviva Stadium next June. The play-off winner's third group game of Group E will be against Spain in Bilbao. Georgia, if they come through their play-off, will also be kept away from Russia, with whom they have a disputed border. The winners of Path B will not be known for another four months with Ireland facing Slovakia in the semi-final on March 26 and the winners travelling away to play the winners of Bosnia v Northern Ireland five days later. In a nightmare scenario, whoever comes through that process could then be drawn in the same group as Spain, France and defending champions Portugal.
