So we have earmarked 20 ICU beds for critical Covid-19 patients and set up a 50-bed Covid-19 isolation ward. The 980-bedded Hindu Rao Hospital is the largest medical facility run by the north corporation and caters to a large population in north Delhi. The mayor said the number of beds in the isolation ward will be increased to 200 and ICU beds will be augmented. “Utilisation of health infrastructure at municipal hospitals will certainly help in coping with the sudden surge in the demand for Covid-19 beds. Hospital authorities said preparations are still on to convert the hospital into a Covid facility.
