The North West Department of Health has confirmed that a 51-year-old man committed suicide after he was discharged from the Joe Morolong Hospital. NORTH WEST PATIENT SUICIDE AHEAD OF PSYCHOLOGIST APPOINTMENTThe province’s department said it was left in utter bewilderment after the deceased had been set for an appointment to see a psychologist. “The North West Department of Health is astounded, saddened, and dismayed at learning of the sad news of a 51-year-old male patient from Dithakwaneng Village near Vryburg who took his own life,” the official statement said. “The CEO of Joe Morolong Hospital confirmed this unfortunate incident of a discharged patient who committed suicide within the hospital premises. He was then referred to a psychologist yesterday and got discharged the same day having been given a follow-up appointment.
