Yesterday, North Wales basked in 20C sunshine thanks to a heatwave caused by an “African Plume” of warm air. The 1,500 mile-wide “plume” has been pulled to the UK from Africa thanks to low pressure over the North Atlantic. Although it won’t get quite as hot here in North Wales with some light winds and low cloud meaning temperatures will peak at around 22C at best.
