North Taranaki Midweek advertisement fell short of our values

Former New Plymouth mayor Andrew Judd, who advocates for Māori wards, comforts New Plymouth District councillor Sam Bennett following July’s successful vote to create a Māori ward for New Plymouth. An advertisement published in the November 18 edition of the North Taranaki Midweek did not represent the views of Stuff and fell short of our values. As editor of the Stuff Taranaki newsroom I apologise on behalf of the Taranaki team for the anger, hurt and confusion this has caused. Andy Jackson/Stuff The advertisement did not meet Stuff’s values, says Taranaki regional editor Matt Rilkoff. At Stuff Taranaki we accept this lapse in policy and procedure has damaged a number of relationships in our community, and undermined the trust of our audiences.
