Major General al-Sayyed Harhour, the North Sinai governor, said the security situation in the province is improving, thanks to the efforts of the Armed Forces, the police and heightened citizen awareness. Speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm, the governor said: “Everyone is [united] -- the police, the army and the people. This will never happen, he asserted, as Egypt is blessed by God and protected by its people and the army. The governor said the political leadership is focussing on developing several regions in North Sinai in all fields, particularly infrastructure. He added that once terrorism is eliminated in the province, it will attract investors in several fields as it used to.
