"This offender was on the move, he was on foot, it started in Murrays Bay [where he stabbed members of the public], and he continued to walk through to Mairangi Bay. The members of the public who had acted or helped, which have been described as construction workers, had "acted with bravery", Hassan said. Police apprehended the man at Mairangi Bay after several people were injured. A staff member at Cafe BayBay in Beach Rd, Murrays Bay said the man stabbed people, before fleeing to Mairangi Bay.
