The launch was detected by several military radars and sensors in the region, drawing criticism from governments in the United States, South Korea, and Japan. He further added, "This is neither a hypersonic glide vehicle nor a hypersonic cruise missile, this is a missile with a mobile warhead." January 5's warhead featured a more conical shape than the first claimed North Korean hypersonic missile tested in September, which was glider-like.
