The North American bid to stage the 2026 World Cup seems like a sure thing. The reasons have nothing to do with the sterling credentials of the North American bid or the certainty that the tournament would fill stadiums and coffers. The North American bid would likely claim 32 from CONCACAF and, it hopes, 10 from South America.
